Description

A quick and easy flatbread recipe using kefir and yogurt for a fluffy, tangy bread perfect for dips or wraps.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup kefir
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon sugar or garlic powder
  • Optional: Herbs for seasoning

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together kefir and yogurt.
  2. Add flour, salt, baking powder, and optional sugar or sourdough starter; stir until a rough dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough slightly until it comes together, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Divide the rested dough into 6 balls and roll each one flat to desired thickness.
  5. Heat a skillet and drizzle with olive oil. Cook each flatbread until bubbles form, flip, and cook until golden brown.
  6. Keep the cooked flatbreads warm in a towel until serving.

Notes

For fluffier bread, let the dough rest longer or use warmer settings. Brush with garlic butter after cooking for added flavor.
