Description

Learn how to make kefir at home—a delicious and nutritious fermented drink that adds a tangy twist to your meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or dairy-free)
  • 2 tablespoons kefir grains

Instructions

  1. Place the kefir grains into a clean jar.
  2. Add milk to the jar, leaving some space at the top.
  3. Cover the jar with a coffee filter or cloth and let it sit at room temperature for 24-48 hours.
  4. Once thickened, gently stir and strain out the kefir grains.
  5. Store the kefir in the fridge and enjoy within a week.
  6. Rinse the grains and repeat the process for continuous kefir making.

Notes

Try adding fruit, honey, or oats to sweeten the kefir when consuming it. Adjust fermentation time for desired tanginess.
